Friends and Nazis

Except for lunch and at the end of the school day, I had a good day so far.

At lunch, Alex was missing from the table and Bev said that Alex was pissed off at me and wasn't going to show up at lunch anymore. I was so upset, fearing for our friendship, that I completely lost my appetite (yet I continued shoving food down my throat, knowing I had to keep up my calores to gain weight). The next period, gym, Alex and I exchanged a few words. Then, the awkward silence was gone and playing ping-pong together was finally enjoyable again (we played against Mike and Nick today; we won all 3 games, by large amounts of points). I think it's safe to say we're friends again. I was in a good mood until...

Mrs. Swanson's 8th period Algebra II Honors class. Swanson is a "nazi" and her entire class will testify to that. Today, she spent almost the whole period going over yesterday's homework, so I sat in my desk and read (and finished) Hellsing Vol. 2 the entire time. Over the past few days, she's gotten mad at me for reading in her class and has told me to put the books I was reading away several times in the past (only to find me reading a few minutes later). Today was different, however. She let me read the entire time she was checking homework.

Then, as she was finishing, she said "You know, I wasn't going to give you homework tonight, but I noticed some people aren't paying attention (meaning me) so you're going to do numbers 36-70 even, and I'm going to count it as a quiz grade." Then, I got out my textbook and began working as she finished with yesterday's homework. Then, she decided to make a deal with the class that she knew (or so she thought) I would be exempt from. "If you did your homework last night, and you got every single answer right and corrected the ones you got wrong, then you don't have to do the homework tomorrow and you'll get 100. However, if you got even 1 wrong, you'll get a zero." So, I turned to the back of my textbook, and checked all my answers. I got one wrong, and seeing the mistake I made, corrected it (which Swanson didn't think I could do having not payed attention as she went through the problems step by step). So, I waited until the bell rang, and then walked up to her desk and handed her my notebook. "Sorry, you had to hand this in by the end of the period," she said, handing it back to me.

Now, I'm pissed. I'm not doing her homework, and I'll get a zero. I don't care. I gave her my work today, and I deserve that free 100 she promised.
